If you wish to combine enjoying the beach and discovering Sète

You can stroll along the canals of the centre-port (and perhaps watch the water jousting tournaments which encapsulate the soul of Sète) or set off to find the church of St Louis and the chapel of Notre Dame de la Salette…

Then, head for the “city heights” which will give you a little taste of Italy… Not forgetting the belvedere on Mont St Clair which is 183 metres high and offers an amazing view of the city and the sea.

In the national forest of les Pierres Blanches an exceptional view of the étang de THAU and the ancient salt marshes awaits you.

As you descend, you will probably pass the sailors’ cemetery which looks over the sea…

If you also wish to combine leisure and culture there are permanent and temporary exhibitions in the city’s museums (espace Georges BRASSENS, musée Paul VALERY, musée de la mer, musée international des arts modestes…)

To make your holidays complete, you can go for a boat trip, take part in water sports or participate in one of the many festivals which take place from April onwards…

Sète and surrounding areas

Beyond Sète, you can set off to discover Marseillan-ville, a charming small fishing village on the edge of the étang de THAU and visit the Nouilly-Prat (a local aperitif) cellars and the oyster farms, or take a little stroll around the petit port from where you have a pretty view of the hill of Sète.

If nature appeals to you, you must visit the mouth of the Canal du Midi at la Pointe des Onglous between Marseillan-ville and Marseillan-plage.

A little further away, you can investigate Béziers and the Fonseranes locks.

Don’t forget Pézenas, the city of Molière with its theatrical performances, exhibitions and its wonderful Saturday market. In July and August, every Wednesday and Friday, the craftsmen open their shops so you can discover their art.

For lovers of wide open spaces and tranquillity, we can offer you: the lac du Salagou and Saint Guilhem le Désert!!!

The HERAULT and LANGUEDOC regions have another one thousand and one treasures which we would be delighted to show you!!!
